County Sligo Records Online Research System

County Sligo Heritage & Genealogy Centre have made their database of records available to search online.

This site sligo.brsgenealogy.com is part of the Irish Genealogical Online Record Search System (ORS), an all Ireland initiative organized by the Irish Family History Foundation.

The indexes (listing surname, firstname and year) are free to search. However you need to register with the site in order to use the indexes. If you wish to view the full record details, credit can be purchased on the site and then used to view records on this site or on the Central Site.

We launched this online research site in May 2008, making available all pre 1900 church baptismal, marriage and death records, the 1901 Census for County Sligo and the Griffiths Valuation. We added approximately 65% of the 1911 Census in December 2009. Registered users of the site will be updated by email as further records are added.

Each county Centre created a local computer database comprised of various genealogical records and have come together to create this Central Site.
