Can you think of anything more enjoyable than spending a relaxing holiday
in the beautiful North West of Ireland tracing your ancestral roots?

Walk the paths they once walked, visit the old homestead, chat with the locals; do all of the things that you cannot do at a computer screen or inside a records repository and bring back the emotional element, so often lacking in today's family research. We here at County Sligo Heritage & Genealogy Centre have put together a four day programme to help you do just that - add life to your research!

We have assembled an international line up of esteemed speakers on various topics of interest to any amateur family historian or genealogist, irrespective of their level of expertise.

This comprehensive and innovative programme is further enhanced by an exciting evening entertainment schedule, which will bring a mystical element and truly Irish flavour to the event.

The range of topics addressed by these speakers is broad and far-reaching, encompassing everything from Griffith’s Valuation and Poor Law Unions, folklore, ancient irish customs, emigration right up the modern day phenomenon of tracing your ancestors using DNA mapping science. The programme of events thus forges a unique link between the past and the present.
