In 2005, County Sligo Heritage & Genealogy Centre held a Programme of eight Family History Workshops at various locations throughout County Sligo between September and December 2005. The aim of the Programme was to give those wishing to research their ancestry some guidelines and advice on where to begin.

These Workshops which attracted over 150 participants in all were hosted at local level by Community Groups throughout County Sligo. The initiative was kindly supported by County Sligo LEADER Partnership Co. Ltd
